Breakfast is a huge market with 21 billion* breakfast occasions each year, and at long last after years of decline, it’s starting to grow again albeit slowly at+0.7%* YoY with 600k* fewer consumers now skipping breakfast! Possibly and recently helped by the A Better Breakfast campaigns!


However although there are billions of breakfast occasions and indeed breakfast is still the largest meal occasion in the UK accounting for 27%** of food & drink consumed at home or carried out, the market is only worth just over £2.0 billion**.


In fact a combination of changing consumer lifestyles, an increased health awareness and changing shopping patterns are having the biggest effect in changing consumer attitudes to a meal that once represented over a third of all eating occasions - so at last breakfast is beginning to wake-up, but in a different and more mobile way then previously!
